Transportation The State of Texas requires a school district to transport all students two miles or greater from the school they attend. It is, however, the policy of the Bridge City District to transport all students to the school they attend regardless of the distance. The District operates a fleet of approximately 22 buses and operates its own maintenance shop. These buses travel approximately 170,000 miles transporting students to and from school and approximately 55,000 miles for extracurricular activities and field trips. Food Service All five campuses have a fully equipped cafeteria providing hot lunches each day. A menu of meals is published for each month. Philosophy We believe that the Bridge City School District is an agency of our democratic society which in cooperation with the home, the church, and the community, provides a wholesome learning experience for all students. We believe that the Bridge City School District should provide the facilities, the personnel, and the proper environment for our students. We believe the main purposes of the Bridge City School District are to help each student, according to his ability, acquire skills, gain knowledge and understanding, form good habits, develop desirable attitudes toward self and others, and gain maturity in self-direction, self-determination, problem solving, and critical thinking. We believe that the Bridge City School District should give guidance and provide opportunities for students to develop good character and citizenship traits at every grade level, and through the various media of teaching, supervising, and counseling, explore and develop aptitudes to help them to make a wise choice of vocation. The community, school board, teachers, and the administration dedicate themselves to the task of providing these opportunities for our youth. Mission Statement The mission of the Bridge City Independent School District, a progressive, family/community supported educational system, is to provide a comprehensive well-balanced instructional program in a safe learning environment to ensure the development of caring, responsible, productive graduates capable of contributing to a global society. Academic Test Results The Bridge City ISD consistently scores high on the TAKS tests, at all grade levels that are tested. When compared to the other schools in this area we are always at or near the top in each grade and test area. Bridge City ISD is a recognized district with two schools rated exemplary, two are recognized, and one is acceptable.
