Food Service Memo

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Since the pandemic started in March 2020 Bridge City ISD was proud to be able to offer our students free meals.  This benefit was made possible through waivers from the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).   From March 2020 to May 2022, we were able to served 495,509 free lunches and 207,071 free breakfasts to our kids of Bridge City.

However, the waiver mentioned above has ended.  Beginning in August 2022, our Food Service Department will change back to the way we operated before March 2020.

Breakfast and lunch will still be available to all students

  • Meals will NOT be free for all.
  • The students who do not qualify for free or reduced-priced meals must pay full price for breakfast and lunch:

      Breakfast     Lunch

K-5    $1.75       $2.60

6-8     $1.75       $2.85

9-12   $1.75       $3.25

  • Those who qualify for reduced-price meals - breakfast is  $0.30 and lunch is $0.40

               Free / Reduced-priced meal applications

  • Beginning July 1 meal application will be available  online at
  • We encourage all families who believe they may qualify to complete a meal application.  The qualifying income guidelines change yearly.
  • Please contact our Food Service Department at 409-735-1561 if you need help to complete the meal application or if you would like a paper copy of the meal application to complete.

You DO NOT need to submit an NSLP household meal application if:

  • You received a letter that your child is directly certified to receive free/reduced-price meals, you do not need to complete an application for meal benefits
